Any idea of forming so-called Kosovo army goes contrary to the both, law and the wish to have normal relations in Kosovo and in the region, Director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric said, RTS reports.

Marko Djuric made this statement in Stara Planina (Old Mountain) where he was visiting children from Kosovo and Metohija staying there. He recalled that UN SC Resolution 1244 and Kumanovo Military-Technical Agreement clearly stipulate that only KFOR, and with approval of KFOR Commander the Army of Serbia, can be in Kosovo.

“Anything else is illegal armed formation, contrary to the domestic and international laws, and no one in the international community should support something like that,” Djuric added, commenting on media allegations that Pristina intends to celebrate forming of the Kosovo army on 28 November on the Ibar bridge.

Djuric urged the Serbs from Kosovo not to join such an army, saying it is not Serbian and the Army of Serbia, does not serve to the peace and stability as well as the future of Serbs in Kosovo, instead it has separatist goals.
