Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov said the EU efforts to mediate between Belgrade and Pristina have failed and that the USA is forcing creation of Kosovo army, Tanjug news agency reports today.

It is obvious the EU efforts have failed, because Pristina rejected to implement all the agreements reached so far,” Lavrov said. Russian Minister added he thinks foremost to the Community of Serb Municipalities.

“The attempts of Pristina to form its own army represent the gravest violation of the UN SC Resolution 1244. In addition, Pristina is being pressured from outside, to do so, primarily from the USA,” Lavrov said.

Following the meeting with the Foreign Affairs Minister of the Union of the Comoros, Souef Mohammed El-Amine, Lavrov underlined Russia welcomes decision of this country to revoke recognition of Kosovo.

“We, of course, welcome this decision. Russia would continue in the future to respect decisions made by the Security Council, and here I refer to UN SC Resolution 1244 which sees Kosovo as part of Serbia. All the steps must be undertaken in line with this Resolution,” Lavrov underlined.
