The extraordinary session of the Assembly requested by Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has ended half an hour after starting and failed to result in approval of legsilation relating to European integration. The session is reported to have ended after the majority of ruling parties MPs were not present. Opposition meanwhile criticised PM Haradinaj’s request for a session saying it represents an interference in the workings of the Assembly.

Head of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) parliamentary group Avdullah Hoti said the session had not substance and MPs have nothing to discuss about. “LDK is present in the session, we support international agreements but the session has no substance. We request a better coordination between the ruling coalition,” Hoti said. Vetevendosje MP Albulena Haxhiu said the session was called in an unconstitutional manner. “The president interferes in the government and now the prime minister in the Assembly,” Haxhiu said. Head of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) Memli Krasniqi at the same time said PM Haradinaj had already agreed with the legislation committee to postpone the session for some other time.
