Kosovo President Hashim Thaci said in an interview to The Point that “we cannot change the past: Serbia and Kosovo have been at war. But we can change the future by building peace among us”. “The public in Serbia continues to believe that Kosovo is the cradle of Serbia. Therefore, we need time to explain to the citizens of our countries that it is in our mutual interest to build lasting relations … The mutual interest is for Kosovo to be recognized by Serbia, EU accession talks and membership to the United Nations. The Balkans needs stability and to achieve this we need support from the European Union, and certainly support from President Macron because France has always been at the forefront of efforts to preserve peace,” Thaci said.
