Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said in a meeting with Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz in Vienna today that visa liberalization for Kosovo should be included in the agenda of the EU Council of Ministers, as Kosovo has met all the requirements in the process. Haradinaj said that in addition to the right to freedom of movement, visa liberalization for Kosovo means increased partnership, and more trade and exchange opportunities for EU member states and the region. “Today in Vienna, Austria, we had a working breakfast with Chancellor Sebastian Kurz and leaders of the Western Balkans, where I said that Kosovo is committed to strengthen regional cooperation and is ready to assume its obligations, but that this also needs to be mutual. I informed my counterparts that Kosovo has achieved progress in the implementation of the SAA and ERA 1 and that we are now waiting to launch ERA 2. Kosovo is the only country in the EU and the region that has no freedom of movement and I asked Chancellor Kurz for visa liberalization to be included in the agenda of the EU because Kosovo has met all the EU requirements,” Haradinaj wrote in a Facebook post.
