The President of the Assembly of Kosovo Kadri Veseli said the decision of the four mayors of northern Kosovo municipalities to resign from their positions was hastened and called on all citizens in the north to restrain, react calmly and balanced towards the recently created situation.
“Resignation of the mayors of four northern municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo is a hastened decision and harmful for the citizens of these municipalities as well as for the climate of the relations among communities in Kosovo. I call on all citizens of the north for self-restraint, a calm reaction and balance towards the created situation during the last days,” Veseli said on his reaction.
He stressed that Kosovo is engaged to respect the rights of each citizens, therefore problems should be resolved in a mature manner and only through political ways and dialogue.
“Kosovo will also continue to give its maximum to improve inter-ethnic coexistence within the country and consolidate stability and good neighborly relations in the region,” Veseli wrote on his Facebook page.
