The President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci met today at U.S. Senate with Senator Ron Johnson.
After the meeting, Thaci said that he has received from Senator Johnson support of all U.S. institutions for the reach of an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, which assures mutual recognition and Kosovo’s membership at NATO, EU and UN.
“It is pleasure for me to have met today with Senator Johnson who often visited Kosovo and Serbia. He has continuously encouraged us to work for the reach of a comprehensive agreement between Kosovo and Serbia which means reciprocal recognition, Kosovo’s membership at UN after replacement of Resolution 1244. I am aware that it will not be an easy process, but with the support of the United States of America, of Senator Johnson, things can be reached, they can become concrete, the historic peaceful agreement can be reached. Therefore, engagement of Kosovo institutions as well as my personal engagement will be completely coordinated with the U.S. Therefore, I once again express special gratitude to Senator Johns, his personal engagement, his personal support with his visits to Kosovo and Serbia,” Thaci said after the meeting.
