U.S. Balkans analyst Daniel Serwer said for Voice of America Serbian service that the statements made by U.S. officials that now is the right time for Kosovo and Serbia to reach agreement does not necessarily mean that a deal is close by. “It is not a bad thing to call for an agreement to be reached but I don’t see this moment as being something special… just because they say the agreement should be reached as soon as possible doesn’t mean it will happen,” Serwer said. He added that Thaci’s talk of defining border with Serbia is better than the notion of border correction: “It is known where Kosovo’s border is. The main issue will not be its definition but demarcation.”
