Kosovo Assembly Committee for European Integration has approved three draft laws for the Kosovo Security Force with the amendments of the functional commission from the aspect of compliance with the European Union legislation.
Blerta Deliu said the draft law is in compliance with the European legislation. She added she feels good that today as the committee they are concluding a constitutional duty, which unified the government, opposition and communities.
Except for the support for the draft law, MPs from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) gave also their remarks. Armend Zemaj, MP from this political party, expressed his support for the three draft laws. “My remark and suggestion is that considering what the Republic of Kosovo is experiencing, it is unacceptable that the term ‘Republic’ remains out of the three draft laws. I am going to support them, but intentionally or not, we are sliding,” he said.
Ismet Beqiri from the same political party said this is a significant momentum for Kosovo. “There is no reason for us to ever escape our identity which clarifies our constitutional identity. We will not become an obstacle, but in a near future, we will improve it,” Beqiri said.
