Kosovo’s Minister for Infrastructure, Pal Lekaj, said today that Kosovo should not make any compromises when it comes to its sovereignty, integrity and freedom of movement. Lekaj took to Facebook to write: “You’re killing Kosovo with hypocrisy! It is true that we are the most pro-Western country in Europe, in the world maybe, but the bitter truth is that we are most marginalized people in this part of the world. How long will this go on, how long will certain officials and bureaucrats toy with the patience and feelings of Kosovo and its people?! There should be no compromises with our right to sovereignty, integrity, freedom of movement and to be respected for our decisions. The 100-percent tax will remain in force until we get recognition from Serbia, visa liberalization and full recognition from the European Union. Mr. Hahn, it would have been good if you came to Kosovo with this kind of news and not to put pressure on us”.
