Kosovo police said on Sunday evening that members of the Union of Women from Belgrade have been returned from Jarinje because one of the main goals of the visit was a protest in North Mitrovica, with an assessment that they are a threat to the Kosovo’s order and security, reports Kontakt plus radio.

Police stated in their press release that they arrived by a bus, in a non-scheduled /irregular line, however, reports the Kontakt plus radio, no humanitarian aid was mentioned.

“Today, at 13.05 hours, the Kosovo Police refused to allow the entry to the bus of Kolasin transport company, Belgrade registration plates, on a free line (irregular) from Serbia towards the Republic of Kosovo. In the bus which arrived on an unregistered bus line, there were 28 people, mostly female, who presented themselves as the Union of Women from Belgrade and who had different professions” it was said in the press statement.

“According to the information provided and their statements, one of the main goals of these people’s visits was to hold protests in North Mitrovica. In accordance with the legal procedure, in accordance with the Law on Border Control and Monitoring, they were denied entry into the Republic of Kosovo, because they represent a threat to the order and security of the country” it was said in a statement by the Kosovo Police.

The Union of Women of the Belgrade’s Vracar Municipality sent to Kosovo, a hospital in North Mitrovica, humanitarian aid and toys for children, but they were not allowed to continue their journey and pass the administrative crossing Jarinje, on grounds that they posed a security threat, reports Kontakt plus radio.
