Constitutional Court of Kosovo has not clarified the dilemma President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci raised with regards to the new composition of the Central Elections Commission (CEC). After months of deliberations, the Court declared Thaci’s request to be ‘inadmissible.’ Thaci had requested the Court to interpret article 139 of the Constitution of Kosovo concerning the political affiliation of the CEC members. Thaci asked whether CEC members should be appointed from pre-election parliamentary groups or parliamentary groups created following the constitution of the Assembly of Kosovo. Constitutional Court said issued raised by President Thaci do not fall under its jurisdiction and therefore declared the request to be inadmissible.
