The U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Mathew Palmer, said the U.S. support the construction of ‘Kosova e Re’ power plant, the news website reports. Palmer said the new power plant will give Kosovo uninterrupted electricity supply and will have a positive impact on the environment, adding that he is pleased that a U.S. company is heading the project. He also said he was disappointed by the decision of the World Bank not to support the construction of the power plant. He added that he is very optimistic that the Kosovo government and Contour Global will secure the necessary funds for the new power plant. “Absolutely, we are committed to implementing the project,” Palmer said.
