Austrian diplomat Wolfgang Petritsch said today that the European Union should discuss with the United States about the transformation of Kosovo’s Security Force into an army, in order to find a joint position on the matter.
Petritsch told the journalists in Belgrade that Kosovo-Serbia dialogue should be priority in any case and that security in Kosovo is already guaranteed by NATO and KFOR forces.
He reminded that NATO for example objects the manner of creation of the army as announced by Pristina, but that it is being supported by the U.S.
“EU should now discuss with the U.S. find a common language with NATO and then discuss with Pristina,” Petritsch said.
