Commenting on possible new measures of Pristina, Serbian Minister of Trade and Telecommunications, Rasim Ljajic said the trade is already stopped, and it is about further political radicalization by Pristina, Serbian media report.

“It is difficult to speculate about Pristina’s new measures,” Ljajic said, adding that “Serbia has some information about it,” but he would not comment before seeing what these measures could be.

“I think it is about further political radicalization of Pristina, regardless they say these are alleged economic measures. It is about to create even bigger problem, and they count they can get something from the EU in return, being it visa liberalization, improving negotiation positions or to divert attention from their international failures,” Ljajic noted.

Meanwhile, Minister of Internal Affairs, Nebojsa Stefanovic assessed possible new measures of Pristina “as continuation of ethnically motivated aggression with only one goal, and it is to expel Serbs from the north of Kosovo and compete their ethnic cleansing.” He also noted that new possible measures would bring nothing good, neither to Serbs, nor Albanians, and the region as a whole.

Srpska Lista Deputy Chair, Igor Simic said additional Pristina’s measures would the most directly jeopardize survival and existence of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.

“There are announcements of some measures, and it means Kosovo officials in the most direct way send a message to the Serbs, foremost to those in the north of Kosovo that they are not welcome here, they are not welcome to stay in their houses, properties, on their own land,” Simic said.

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djuric said possible new measures would jeopardize the future of both Serbs and Albanians. He added that those thinking about new measures against Serbia are enemies of the peace and stability in the region.
