Mitrovica Mayor Agim Bahtiri said at a conference today that all his decisions are taken in cooperation with the citizens he represents and vowed not to allow an ‘ethnically-pure’ Mitrovica North. “Serbs that got elected in 2013 to lead Mitrovica North and ten municipalities had their bodies in Kosovo but their heads in Belgrade. Their plan was to make that part of Mitrovica north ethically pure,” Bahtiri said. “We want to see Albanians return to their properties. Is there anything more difficult than a family being refugee in its own city, see its property and destructed house and not be able to do anything about it,” he said adding that he has ‘relentlessly’ worked for unification of Mitrovica.
