Co-chairperson of the Kosovo negotiating team for dialogue with Serbia, Shpend Ahmeti, said after the meeting called by Assembly Speaker Kadri Veseli that his only request today was for everyone to come together and speak in a unified voice regarding dialogue with Serbia. Ahmeti said that the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and Vetevendosje have two reserved seats in the negotiating team. “We will continue inviting them to meetings even if they don’t attend,” Ahmeti said adding that politics should be left aside at this time: “We did not enter politics for electoral purposes. We entered for this country.” Ahmeti also said that the negotiating team is scheduled to travel to Brussels on 8 January and meet EU facilitators.
