Maja Kocijancic, spokeswoman for EU High Representative Federica Mogherini, told the news website today that the EU-brokered dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia presidents, Hashim Thaci and Aleksandar Vucic, is not expected to resume soon. “The pace, agenda and format of dialogue is determined by the two parties. So far, we haven’t planned a meeting for the near future. The European Union expects Serbia and Kosovo to engage in quickly in dialogue, given the direct link between the normalization of relations and concrete prospects for their EU aspirations … As far as the tariff is concerned, our position is clear: the decision of the Kosovo government to set a 100-percent tariff on products from Serbia and Bosnia, is a clear violation of the CEFTA agreement and the Stabilization/Association Agreement between Kosovo and the EU. High Representative Federica Mogherini at the meeting on January 8 has reiterated the urgency for rescinding the tax,” Kocijancic said.
