Kadri Veseli, President of the Assembly of Kosovo, said after the meeting with the state delegation for the dialogue that at this process, Kosovo together with strategic partners will ensure recognition of the independence by Serbia with the borders of 17 February 2008, as well as the seat at the United Nations.

Veseli called once again on the opposition political parties that are boycotting the dialogue process to take over their responsibilities towards the country and leave aside close electoral interests. “You are aware that we are almost each day receiving letters and we are receiving very official positions of the U.S. and the EU on the dialogue process during the meetings. It appears that especially LDK, is aware that it is not the time of elections. And the more we speak about the dialogue process, the more they are intensifying the issue of the election process, as a way of gaining politically. I would say this: it would have been good to take over responsibility and not think only about political ego and rehabilitations, at the very crucial moments for the country. Be it as it may, we will continue,” he said.

Veseli added further that the decision making will belong to the citizens of Kosovo. “It is the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo and any decision that will be made on Kosovo, will be made by the two thirds of the Assembly. It is also the referendum where our citizens will decide on their own,” Veseli added.
