Avdullah Hoti, head of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) parliamentary group, accused the ruling coalition [PAN] today of making false promises to teachers during the previous election campaign. Hoti wrote in a Facebook post that PAN asked for the votes of teachers by promising them a 30-percent pay raise “whereas now they are arrogantly asking them to end their strike”. According to Hoti, the solution to the problem is simple: the government must annul the decision for a double raise of its salaries, and the draft law on salaries must be withdrawn and drafted again in consultations with teachers, doctors, civil servants, police, firefighters, customs officers, tax inspectors, municipalities and other sectors.
