The Kosovo Assembly committee on economic development decided to send back the draft statute for the Trepca mining complex to the company’s board to incorporate demands made by representatives of the union. Vetevendosje MP Liburn Aliu said the version of the statute that they were deliberating on was identical to the one they reviewed previously and asked the Trepca board to draft its statute and not involve the Assembly in the matter. MP from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) Hykmete Bajrami meanwhile pointed out that the statute can only be voted once the shareholders complete the drafting process unaided by the Assembly. Similarly, Dardan Sejdiu from the Social Democratic Party (PSD) spoke about the need for the Trepca board to finalise its statute as did the Muharrem Nitaj from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK). Memli Krasniqi from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) called on the Trepca board to put more efforts into harmonising the statute.
