Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said today that until the Assembly votes on the draft law on salaries, “everyone will protest and go on strike trying to secure a more advanced position”. “Everyone is seeking a better position in the law … It is normal to have strikes when the law is drafted 20 years later – we never had a law on salaries. Everyone is afraid and feels under pressure about their position in the law. There has been a four percent increase early this, except for the education sector,” he said. Haradinaj said he is not concerned with the strike in the education sector. “I understand this, and we were expecting these strikes … It is reasonable because this is a societal dialogue. It would be weird if there was no interest, reaction or strikes – it is normal to have strikes,” Haradinaj added. “We are working on the law. I believe we will have it ready soon and afterwards there will be a continuous of dialogue with all.”
