Kosovo Assembly Committee on European Integration has approved the draft of the Criminal Procedure Code which has undergone several amendments. Chair person of the committee, Blerta Deliu, said the proposed law is not in conflict to European Union directives and should therefore reach the Assembly as quickly as possible. Deliu explained that the draft code sets to regulate the way war crimes are tried in absentia. Earlier, Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri commended the legislation saying it will increase efficiency in the fight against corruption.
