The news website reports that Bilall Sherifi, head of the NISMA parliamentary group, reacted today to the growing pressure on the Kosovo government to lift the 100-percent tariff on Serbian and Bosnian goods. Sherifi said lifting the tax without addressing the reasons why it was introduced in the first place, would encourage Serbia to continue its aggressive policy and diplomacy toward Kosovo. Sherifi said since the declaration of independence, Kosovo has avoided confronting Serbia’s aggressive approach. “Lifting the tax without addressing the reasons that pushed the Kosovo government to make the decision would mark a step backwards in the path of making continuous concessions to Serbia, a path which has proven to be wrong,” Sherifi was quoted as saying.
