RTK portal reports that the U.S. Ambassador to Kosovo Philip Kosnett has left the meeting with the Kosovo institutional leaders, held this morning, upset from the rejection of the Prime Minister Ramush Hardinaj to suspend the tax and restart the dialogue.
RTK sources reportedly said that Kosnett has demonstratively left the meeting and slammed the door. Reportedly, this is the reason why the meeting of the institutional leaders lasted that long, and the reason they did not leave at the same time as the Ambassador.
According to these sources, Kosnett made it clear at the meeting with President Hashim Thaci, President of the Assembly Kadri Veseli and Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, that there are only two ways: the first one, suspension of the tax, which means U.S. position of support for Kosovo until the end, or the second one, immediate U.S, sanctions for Kosovo, which means serious breach of the relations between the two countries.
