Agim Bahtiri, mayor of Mitrovica South, met today with head of the Trepca independent trade union, Shyqyri Sadiku. They discussed the most recent statement of the EU Spokesperson Maja Kocijancic, that Trepca issue should be resolved through the comprehensive agreement between Belgrade and Pristina. Both Bahtiri and Sadiku strongly objected the statement, stressing that Trepca should never be part of the Brussels discussions. According to them, Trepca enterprise belongs to the miners, and represents national wealth, therefore discussion on Trepca attacks directly sovereignty of Kosovo.
Both parties agreed that Kociajncic should withdraw her statement through a press release, otherwise the independent trade union of Trepca will soon organize protests in front of the Offices of the EU in Pristina.
