The OSCE Mission in Kosovo commends Kosovo Police for identifying the perpetrator of the latest act of vandalism on the memorial plaque of journalists Đuro Slavuj and Ranko Perenić in Rahovec/Orahovac.
In our condemnation of the act on 4 February, we noted that vandalism on the plaque serves to undermine inter-community trust and dialogue, as well as the efforts to remember journalists who were lost while exercising their profession.
On the other hand, effective policing deepens trust among the local communities and demonstrates that this society will respect all victims regardless of ethnicity.
