Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic says to Radio Television of Serbia that throughout Kosovo there are Serbian goods, which arrive there through alternative roads, reported Belgrade based daily Danas.

Ljajic recalled that Serbian officials promptly warned of the development of the black market immediately after the introduction of a tax.

“You have a situation that our wheat goes to Croatia, from where is transported as Croatian wheat and sold in Kosovo. A part of the goods, for example, is sold to a businessman in Macedonia, and he then re-exports it and sells it in Kosovo,” Ljajic explained.

He said that within three months the losses would be about 90 million euros less of goods than it was sold or placed in the same period last year, that is, before the introduction of a tax.

“I think the bigger loss will be if the tax remains, because our businessmen will lose this market. We have seen that businessmen from Slovenia, Hungary, Croatia, Albania, Macedonia have appeared … Others have used this space as an alternative to offer their products,” said Ljajic.
