The decision of Pristina institutions to send a new membership request to Interpol indicates that the latest voting there did not sober them up, Serbian Minister of Internal Affairs Nebojsa Stevanovic told Tanjug news agency.
He added, Pristina fails to realize that persistence in no way can be an argument, but only the international law and rules and procedures of this professional police organization.
Stefanovic also recalled that he sent a letter to Interpol few days ago, asking Pristina request not to be considered at all at the next General Assembly session, despite of all legal arguments being on the Serbian side. He noted the only change in relation to the last year’s voting is the number of countries that revoked recognition of Kosovo.
Serbian Minister announced a legal battle, that in fact never ceased, saying Serbia would inform Interpol members once more why the politicization of this police organization would be detrimental to its future work, and general security.
