The Minister of Justice, Abelard Tahiri, signed today with the Office of UnWomen in Kosovo a Memorandum of Cooperation, on the Integrated System for Recording the Domestic Violence Cases.
“At the signing ceremony, Minister Tahiri mentioned that exactly for domestic violence, for the first time the courts in Kosovo have imposed the capital punishment of life imprisonment,” the Ministry of justice informed in a press release.
According to Minister Tahiri, this phenomenon should be addressed in three areas, namely criminal justice, the legal position of women, and the level of social support.
