The latest virtual #trashtag challenge spreading on the social media has inspired people across the world to go to the locations covered with waste and collect it, and following the work done post “before” and “after” photos on the social networks.
A group of young people from Mitrovica North also joined the challenge since they wanted to make the area where they live cleaner, KoSSev portal reports.
They cleaned one part of the walking zone Mitrovica people are using, near by never completed sport’s hall and Kukavica hill. Few years ago high European and municipal officials at that area spoke about “Green Mitrovica” project. According to KoSSev portal what has been left today from that project are ruins, with exception of children playground that still remains complete.
Five young men and one woman collected 13 large garbage bags of waste. The field and the forest near by now look much better and pine trees scent can be felt.
One of the participants, Milan Dobric told KoSSev portal “that this is one of the best things that appeared on social media” adding “some people out there showed it does not take much efforts to change some things that walk on our nerves permanently.”
Dobric believes other people would join the action, and “finally to do something useful for our real, and not virtual life.”
