The chiefs of five administrative districts in Kosovo (Pec, Prizren, Mitrovica, central Kosovo and Pomoravlje) expressed concern today over more frequent political pressure by Pristina on Serbian people and urged all domestic and international political stakeholders to make additional efforts in order to prevent escalation of inter-ethnic tensions and stop the process of Serbs being deprived of their rights and their marginalization in Kosovo.

In a meeting held in Silovo village, chiefs of districts supported unequivocal commitment of Belgrade to dialogue and its attempts to preserve stability in Kosovo and Metohija as well as in the entire region, despite of ill-intended Pristina’s acts.

They added, in a press statement, that Pristina by unilateral acts including decisions on Trepca mining complex, establishment of Kosovo armed forces, tariffs on goods from central Serbia and frequent intrusions of the special police forces to the north of Kosovo caused irreparable damage to the Serbian-Albanian relations and annulled every progress made over the following years in the normalization of the situation on the ground.

They also condemned practice of appointing the Serbs without any legitimacy and political support at high political functions in Pristina institutions, assessing it is about the harshest violation of the rights of the Serbian people to democratic political decision-making.
