Most news websites cover today’s round-table organized by the parliamentary groups of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and Vetevendosje on the constitutionality and institutional responsibilities for dialogue with Serbia. Representatives of both parties argued that dialogue with Serbia must return to point zero, that Kosovo needs to go to early parliamentary elections and that the current state delegation for talks with Serbia and the Law on Dialogue are in opposition with the Constitution of Kosovo. LDK parliamentary group chief, Avdullah Hoti, said dialogue with Serbia should not be led by what he called pseudo-teams, but by legitimate institutions. “The mindset of this political class is concerning. We were clear in our position that the government needs to lead the dialogue. We cannot move forward with negotiating teams, because this takes us backwards. The process of dialogue must be led by legitimate institutions, and not by pseudo-teams because they are anti-constitutional. Borders cannot be a topic of discussion. Kosovo needs a single platform and the key principles for dialogue,” Hoti added. Vetevendosje’s Glauk Konjufca said: “dialogue with Serbia cannot continue in this way because it lacks political legitimacy. Kosovo must return this process to point zero. And at the same time the country needs to go to early elections”.
