Veseli: New government in July, we will discuss coalitions with parties not individuals (EO)
In an interview to Ekonomia Online, leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Kadri Veseli, said the winning coalition has a constitutional right to form the new government and that a possible deadlock serves no one's interests in Kosovo. “Once results are certified, very soon, in the first half of July, we expect to have new institutions in place”, Veseli said.
He said that the PDK-AAK-Nisma coalition (PAN), will undergo talks with political parties for forming the new government but not with specific individuals. He stressed that PAN has no red lines towards anyone. “Red lines is an outdated concept; it is a concept which has nothing to do with the reality of this country. It is a matter of principles, or programming principles, whether one wishes to enter a coalition or not…In love, a man only marries once… but this is politics”, Veseli said.
He said the division of institutional posts has not been discussed but that it is clear Ramush Haradinaj will be the new prime minister of Kosovo. “With regards to PDK, it will act in the interest I, as leader of the party, think best. The party needs to move strongly forward, it needs to reflect and at the same time, change.”
