Late call from Belgrade influenced the turnout of Serbs (KIM radio)
Small turnout of Serbs in Kosovo elections is the result of late call which came from the official Belgrade, said French journalist Loran Rui.
Commenting the preliminary results of the early parliamentary elections in Kosovo the French correspondent from Balkans said that elections were marred by the low turnout, which was also low and in the Serbian settlements.
“The turnout was not that high as expected by some candidates and the official Belgrade. Once more we have witnessed big differences between the wishes of Belgrade and Kosovo politicians,” said Loran Rui and added that the official Belgrade has to have a clear and final stance when it comes to Serbs in Kosovo, because every change in the stance only confuses the people.
With regards to so far results Rui is surprised with the good election result of Thaci’s party. “Despite the division, DPK has received big number of votes. I am surprised because all polls were suggesting that Hashim Thaci’s party will fail in these elections, while quite opposite took place,” said Rui.
