Ivanovic should be released from custody (TV Most)
Office for Kosovo and Metohija requested that leader of the Citizens' Initiative SDP, Oliver Ivanovic, who spent more than year and a half in custody without any legal logic and international legal standards, should be immediately released.
The Office recalls that dozens of witnesses stated that he is innocent, which shows to which extent the EULEX fear that he might influence witnesses is unfounded. "Legal violence has already been done with politically motivated indictment and Ivanovic’s detention. The least what Court can do now is to revoke a decision on custody," reads the statement of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.
The Government of Serbia recalled that it already gave assurances that Ivanovic will be at all times available to EULEX and once again confirmed the guarantee. The Office expects the same decision when it comes to other detained Serbs which are involved in this case, the statement said.
Judges of the Basic Court in northern Mitrovica should today decide on the request of lawyers, according to which Oliver Ivanovic and three other Serbs should be released from custody.
