Contribution to Church's Fund is a recommendation, not an obligation (RTS)
The Director of the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Đurić, stated yesterday that he doesn’t understand the resistance to his proposal for voluntary contributions to the humanitarian Fund of the Eparchy of Raska and Prizren, and added that is it unbelievable that anyone would object to voluntary contributions to the Church’s Fund.
Djuric further said to RTS that some people opposed the idea that employees, especially state officials, should give certain contributions on a voluntary basis to a humanitarian fund that supports, among other, soup kitchens throughout Kosovo. He explained that the Serbian Orthodox Church is the most present humanitarian organization in Kosovo and reminded the importance of the Eparch of Raska and Prizren, stressing that it is questionable if aid would be reaching vulnerable people, without its hard work over the last 16 years in Kosovo.
