Percentage of cases in the northern police station, in the first quarter of 2018 compared to the same period in 2017, is slowly declining, percentage of issued traffic violation tickets is on rise, while percentage of resolved criminal acts is also higher, said Commander of the North Mitrovica Police Station, Major Djordje Karamarkovic.

At the same time, none of the arson cases targeting vehicles in the north have been resolved, Major Karamarkovic added, while presenting the report on the work of police at the Mitrovica North Municipal Assembly session, Radio kontakt plus reported.

Karamarkovic assessed the murder of Oliver Ivanovic as the most serious case this year, adding that due to severity of the case and manner it was carried out, specialized police unit and prosecutor for organized crime were involved in the investigation.

Speaking about security situation in the town, he said it is complex as always, but also satisfactory for the time being.
