Zoran Djokic placed under one-month detention (BETA, KoSSev)
Basic Court in Pec has decided to place Zoran Djokic from this town under one-month detention under allegations that he has committed war crimes during the conflict in Kosovo in 1999, BETA news agency reported.
Kosovo police arrested Djokic at the administrative crossing point Jarinje, over the weekend and then under an armed escort transported him to Pec. His 12-year son who was together with him in the bus witnessed the arrest.
Lawyer Ljubomir Pantovc told BETA news agency his client rejected all allegations of the indictment.
“Zoran Djokic lived in Mitrovica North until 2015, and worked in several non-governmental organizations, but also in the Kosovo Government. I do not have much information about the case, I still did not inspect the case files since investigation just started,” Pantovic said, adding he does not know where Djokic would be sent to detention, since it is a decision that Kosovo Correction Service should make.
