Pristina MPs visiting south Serbia seeking the "Presevo Valley" to join Kosovo (RTS)
Serbian state broadcaster RTS reports that members of the Kosovo Assembly, Arban Abrashi and Nait Hasani, visited Bujanovac and supported the idea of a referendum on the unification of municipalities in the south of Serbia Bujanovac, Presevo and Medvedja with Kosovo, and inclusion of the issue in the Belgrade - Pristina negotiations.
"We support the will of the (Albanian) citizens of the Presevo Valley from the 1992 and the referendum that expresses the desire to unite the" valley" with Kosovo,'' said Nait Hasani of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, one of the deputies of the Pristina assembly who visited the municipalities in the south Serbia.
A member of the opposition Democratic Union of Kosovo Arban Abrashi says, responding to the question of whether the issue of unification of the three Serbian municipalities with the majority Albanian population should be included in the negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina, that "he thinks there is no Albanian MP who oppose this."
Members of several parties of the Pristina Assembly visited Medvedja, after which they met in Bujanovac with the President of the National Council of Albanians, Ragmi Mustafa, and the Mayor of Bujanovac, Shaip Kamberi, reported RTS.
"We have received support for our demands for Kosovo and we hope that the Kosovo Assembly will continue to follow our demands," Mustafa said.
