PDK and LDK with opposing views on the mandate of special court (Lajmi)

The two coalition parties, the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) have opposing views about the time period on which the special court accusations will be based. While the members of the LDK insist that the court should deal with the killings that occurred after the conflict in Kosovo, the PDK MPs say that postwar killings should not be mixed with the alleged crimes that happened during the conflict. According to the LDK MP Vjosa Osmani, the special court will deal with crimes that occurred from 1998 to the end of 2000.

Osmani: Next assembly session should be held as soon as possible (Kosovapress)

Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) MP, Vjosa Osmani, said that Assembly chairperson Flora Brovina needs to schedule the next session as soon as possible, “so that the majority can elect the Assembly President, because we saw today that the PDK lacks the necessary votes”. Osmani also said, “we have several scenarios in mind, but we will wait until the next assembly session where the PDK will once again realize that it lacks the necessary votes”. Osmani said she does not believe internationals will interfere in the process or that Kosovo should go to new elections.
