Jahjaga: Empowerment of women empowers families and societies (Kosovapress)

President of Kosovo Atifete Jahjaga took part in the official opening of the Global Summit of Women taking place in Paris which focuses on women’s economic empowerment and their role in the society.

President Jahjaga delivered a speech at the opening ceremony where she said that empowerment of women also empower families and society as a whole.

“Women have the strength to redesign policies, strategies and open doors that will guarantee greater development and prosperity and also ensure harmony between communities and nations”, said Jahjaga.

Jahjaga requests France’s support on visas (Epoka e Re)

The President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, met on Thursday in Paris with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, Laurent Fabius. They discussed current developments in Kosovo and the region. Jahjaga expressed gratitude for France’s continuous support to Kosovo. She spoke about the significant steps Kosovo has taken vis-à-vis European integration, especially through the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, and added that it is important for the people of Kosovo to conclude the visa liberalization process as soon as possible.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, hosted today the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, Mr. Edmond Mulet.

President Jahjaga informed Mr. Mulet about general developments in Kosovo, the dialogue process with Serbia, and the early general elections, which will be held this Sunday. She stressed that all citizens should exercise their right to vote and elect their legitimate representatives.

Jahjaga: Economic empowerment of women, investment for the future (Koha)

“The economic empowerment of women makes our society stronger; it is an investment in the future and a guarantee for our country’s prosperity. The empowerment of women brings changes in society and we must bring down all barriers and enable our women to work for the economic development of our country,” Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga said in today’s conference “Women and Business” in Pristina.

President of Panama to visit Kosovo today (Kosovapress)

The President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, will welcome today with state ceremony the President of the Republic of Panama, Ricardo Martinelli. President Jahjaga visited Panama during March and April of this year, to participate at the start of works of the “World Economic Forum for Latin America.”  The Embassy of Kosovo in Panama is represented by Zana Rudi, while the one of Panama in Kosovo, by Jose Manuel Teran. The Republic of Panama has recognized Kosovo in 2009, becoming the 54th country that has recognized Kosovo.

Luxemburg values progress in Kosovo (Epoka e Re)

The Grand Duke of Luxemburg visited Kosovo on Wednesday, and during his meetings with President Atifete Jahjaga and Foreign Minister Enver Hoxhaj, he stated that Kosovo has achieved significant progress over the last few years. He added that his country is proud of the assistance it gave to Kosovo. President Jahjaga expressed gratitude to the Grand Duke for his country’s help on Kosovo’s integration process and continuing support for the EU’s enlargement policy in the region.
