Organized crime and terrorism threaten Kosovo (KosovaPress)
Organized crime and terrorism are threatening Kosovo and the whole region, so the combat against these phenomena must be done with regional cooperation. This was said during the regional conference on "Challenges in combating organized crime and terrorism, and the cooperation in South-Eastern Europe,” Kosova Press reports. Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga said that combating organized crime and terrorism must be a common struggle and that every country in the region is facing illegal migration due to lack of cooperation in these areas.
Kosova Press writes that the US ambassador to Kosovo, Tracey Ann Jacobson said that organized crime is a problem not only in Kosovo but also in other countries in the world. Jacobson suggested Kosovo institutions to fight organized crime and corruption, starting from the roots of the problem.
Minister of Interior Affairs, Bajram Rexhepi added that this ministry has been working hard to prevent organized crime and terrorism, but despite actions taken, the region still faces these challenges.
