The Serbian List won in Serbian municipalities (RTK2)

According to incomplete CEC results, most of votes in Serbian municipalities are won by the Serbian List.

Based on 78% processed votes, election ticket of the Serbian List got 3,34% or 18.112 votes, Progressive Democratic Party (PDS) 0,88% or 4.646 votes.

Principal candidate of the Serbian List Branimir Stojanović said after he cast the ballot that most important thing after election is to create political unity.

“Most important thing we must do is to create unity. This political unity, which we have started to make, must develop, it must be fostered. There are many big problems we’ll have to respond on. Starting from privatization, creation of new municipalities, and creation of the union of Serbian municipalities,” said Stojanović.

Leader of the Independent Liberal Party (SLS) Slobodan Petrović expects more than 10 guaranteed seats. “Our estimation and wish is that we pass the magic 5 per cent, that is, the threshold needed in order that we have bigger number of MPs than 10 guaranteed ones,” said Petrović.

Srđan Popović from the SLS believes that citizens are aware of the importance of the parliamentary elections and that they will recognize the final goal, which is ‘fight four our rights and our national interests’.

Leader of the Progressive Democratic party Nenad Rašić, stressed that Serbs should profile their authentic politics. He assessed that union of Serbian municipalities won’t we what others are expecting it to be.

“It won’t be the way they say. Thus, union of Serbian municipalities will only an sub-organization, since there is already an association of Kosovo municipalities in Kosovo, which at the moment can’t bring anything spectacular to Serbs in Kosovo,” said Rašić.

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Đurić, stressed that Serbs have shown today the responsibility toward their state and that those elections have paved the way for creation of the union of Serbian municipalities.

“Those elections have opened a clear and safe perspective for the creation of the union of Serbian municipalities. At the same time, I wish to say that fact that Serbs, despite difficult conditions, turned out in respective numbers has shown the responsibility they have toward their state. Serbs from Kosovo and Metohiaj today stood by their state and that is important indicator which says that we’ve reached the phase when, with joint actions and discipline, organization and dedication, we can fight for realization of our goals,” said Đurić.
