Mayor of Dečani/Deçan and the abbot of Visoki Dečani Monastery yesterday signed an agreement on reconstruction of the road that leads to the Monastery.

The agreement was signed by the Mayor Rasim Selmanaj and abbot Sava Janjić in the presence of the KFOR commander Francesco Paolo Figliuolo.

A communiqué issued after the event reads that agreement will provide recovery of the tourist road that leads to the Monastery and that works will be carried out in the special protection zone between the orthodox cemetery and the Bailey bridge.
The agreement, strongly supported by the KFOR commander, confirms the spirit of cooperation between Dečani/Deçan Municipality and the Monastery, and their readiness to work on development of this area in order to make the life of communities easier, reads KFOR communiqué.
