Djuric: I will not directly interfere in the decisions of Serbs in Kosovo (KIM radio)
Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric said that Serbian representatives have the legitimate right to decide on who will represent them, with regard to the request of certain Serbian representatives in Kosovo to withdraw Aleksandar Jablanovic from the position of President of the Serbian List.
Djuric said that he would not directly interfere in the decisions of the representatives of Serbs in Kosovo institutions, but that he viewed their initiative positively.
"It would be very important to preserve the unity of our people in Kosovo and Metohija, and at the same time that the politicians who represent the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija are with pure biography. That is why I positively view, although I'm not involved directly in the decision of political representatives of the Serbs, on everything that brings together our people and I think they have the right to decide on who will represent them," Djuric said after the Regional Conference on Return held in Budva.
Asked by reporters whether the resignation of Jablanovic could lead to a split within the Serbian list, Djuric said that the departure of one man or a small political organization could not affect the unity of the Serbs in Kosovo.
However, in response to the proclamation of Serbian representatives, Aleksandar Jablanovic accused the Office for Kosovo and Metohija and the Deputy Prime Minister Branimir Stojanovic for pressuring the other members of the Serbian list to request his resignation.
