Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Serbia yesterday welcomed a ‘courageous act’ of the President of the Serbian Academy for Science and Art (SANU), Vladimir Kostić, by which he acknowledged the reality – ‘that Kosovo is independent state’.

“It would be good if exactly the SANU, with the authority it has, initiates a social dialogue aimed at acknowledging the reality, what implies normalization of relations with Kosovo (and Albania), along with the historical reconciliation with Albanians,” reads the communiqué issued by the Helsinki Committee.
