Todic: Bahtiri’s appetite has grown, but he can only dream about his plans (TV Most)
“The latest provocation of Mitrovica South mayor Agim Bahtiri, who during the visit to the Leposavic municipality, more precisely to the village of Saljska Bistrica announced the annexation of these villages from north of Kosovo and Metohija, is causing concerns among the citizens, and I on behalf of the Serbian List and the Serbian people, condemn this in the most strongest terms,” Zoran Todic, mayor of Leposavic municipality said in a written statement, TV Most reported.
In a press statement, Todic further underlined that the attempts to raise the tensions and jeopardize peace must not be tolerated, and international forces KFOR and EULEX must clearly condemn such threats, by sending a clear message that unilateral moves will not and should not be a way to resolve the problems.
“Serbian people and us, as its representatives, want solution to be reached through dialogue and agreement, which will mean the peace and a better life for all citizens, but we take such threats and provocations very seriously, and we appeal to our citizens to remain restrained and not to respond to them. The clear intention of Albanians to transfer the open issues from the negotiations to the streets and villages of northern Kosovo and Metohija will not pass (…),” Todic added.
“After announcing that he will annex Mitrovica North, it is obvious that Bahtiri’s appetites have grown and that he has territorial pretensions to other municipalities in the north of Kosovo and Metohija as well, but he can only dream about his plans. I’m urging him not to play. Neither with his statements, nor dreams. So that his dreams do not turn into a nightmares,” Todic concluded in a statement.
