Everything Serbia does is supported by a part of the White House administration, the part which favors a compromise between Belgrade and Pristina, Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic has said on Wednesday FoNet news agency reports.

“It is a big step forward, but whether they (those who support Belgrade) will press the rest of the Washington political elite remains to be seen. For now, the White House views on Kosovo are significantly different in comparison to those of the State Department,” Dacic added.

He told the Informer tabloid that the US President Donald Trump and his aids wanted the Kosovo issue solved as soon as possible since “it's in their interest.” Dacic also opined they wanted that to end before the presidential election campaign in the US entered its final stage, since “if they have a good result regarding Kosovo, Trump could benefit from that in the race.”
