Kosovo Barred From Playing Serbia, Bosnia In Soccer For Security Reasons (RFE)

European soccer's governing body ruled on June 9 that Kosovo should be kept separate from Serbia and Bosnia for security reasons in competitive matches. UEFA, which admitted Kosovo as a 55th member last month despite strong opposition from Serbia, placed its newest member in a World Cup qualifying group with Ukraine, Croatia, Iceland, Finland, and Turkey.

UN Envoy Calls For End To Political Infighting Over Kosovo (RFE/RL)

The United Nations' envoy for Kosovo said on May 16 that the election of a new Kosovo president and the return to power of Serbia’s government provided "an excellent opportunity" to end political infighting and to, instead, focus on challenges that face the Balkans – like unemployment and inequality.
